How to do loc knots on long locs
If you want to do loc knots on long locs, start by putting them up in a ponytail.
Use a scrunchie or hair tie to put them up in a ponytail then use 3 to 4 locs to cover the hair tie.
Use 5 to 6 bobby pins to secure any locs that are hanging out.
After putting the locs in a ponytail, take two locs and twist them together to your desired length.
Make sure you’re twisting the locs from the right to the left to maintain the shape of the loc.
Leave a significant length of the locs untwisted towards the end.
Hold the last part of the twisted loc using your hand, bend it upwards and start twisting it back down using the untwisted section.
The last part involves using a rubber band to secure the barrel that forms after you twist it back down at the end.
If you want to have a fringe, measure the locs to eyebrow length before twisting them back down.
This is how you do a barbie ponytail on soft locs or any locs really.

How to do a loc knot bob
Unlike loc knots on longs locs, a loc knot bob doesn’t require putting them up in a ponytail.
Just like the former, start by taking two locs and twisting them together.
Again, it’s important to make sure you’re twisting them from the right to the left to maintain the shape of the loc.
DO NOT twist the locs all the way to the bottom.
Twist the locs a quarter way through, bend them upwards and start wrapping them back down.
If the original length of the locs was long, you can wrap the excess hair back upwards.
Use a rubber band to secure the barrel after you’re done.
Refer to the video linked below for a visual reference.
If you don’t want to use rubber bands on the barrels, you can crochet the ends in.
